The sheltered waters make this beach great for nervous swimmers or anyone not interested in being surprised by a random wave trying to enter the water.

Praia Grande is huge with an area near the river with rocks that you can climb and enjoy the Fort, another area with a field dedicated to sports and even a small amusement park in the sand for children. You can reach the beach by water taxi from Portimão marina if you want to avoid the car trip around the surroundings!

What attracts most people to this beach however is the live music and entertainment. On Sundays, the Nau on the beach club has music sessions, or if you want to be more relaxed, turn the corner and relax with chill out melodies on the sand of Escondidinho.
