According to the Henley Passport Index, Portugal is in the top 5 countries with the most powerful passports in the world, that is, they allow you to travel to more destinations without needing a prior visa.

The Henley Passport Index measures freedom to travel worldwide by measuring access to visa-free countries, according to data from the International Air Transport Association.

At the top of the list is Singapore, on the Asian continent, where natural citizens can visit 193 destinations without a visa, out of a total of 227. Previously it was Japan, which occupied the first position, having now fallen to third place, accompanied by Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea and Sweden, with access to 189 countries.

In turn, at the bottom of the list is Afghanistan. Holders of this passport can travel without a visa to only 27 countries, followed by Iraq (29) and Syria (30).
